Autoexec.cfg not working properly:

By following the following steps will get your Autoexec.CFG to work if it doesn't already:

1) Create the Autoexec.cfg file, using notepad, put all the commands you want in it (Eg. cl_lagcomp_errorcheck "0", cl_lagcompensation "1" , etc... ) . Then SAVE AS "autoexec.cfg", but be sure NOT to save it as a "text file", instead SAVE AS TYPE: "all files".

2) Copy it into your autoexec.cfg file into your directory, which should use a similar directory format as:

<DRIVE LETTER>:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<USERNAME>\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg

3) Then you have to enable you "autoexec.cfg", which you can do by opening steam --> Games --> then left clicking CS:S game, going to PROPERTIES, then "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..." then adding the following line exactly:

-exec autoexec

Error Message = "Verifying Steam UserID"

If you receive the error: 'You have been disconnected from the server. Reason: Error verifying STEAM UserID ticket' when you try to connect to a server.

Answer Here

Some users have reported encountering this message after their Steam account has been hijacked or stolen by another user. This message may be displayed if another user has logged in to your account while you are in a game.

If you have confirmed the message is not the result of a network outage and your password is rejected when you attempt to log in, please proceed to the Reclaiming a Hijacked Steam Account topic for instructions on retrieving your account.

If your password is not rejected upon login and you still receiving this error message, the issue can most likely be resolved by restarting Steam.

If restarting Steam does not resolve the issue, please exit Steam and delete the following files from your Steam directory:

By default, the files may be found at C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\ or C:\Program Files\Steam\ (the location on your machine will vary if you specified a different installation folder, or if you have moved your Steam installation).

Seeing only one CT or T model

(Original post by Micky)

Included in the CEVO config.

cl_minmodels 1

cl_min_t x

cl_min_ct x

x can be any number 1-4. This is the skin you want to see, they are the same numbers that you choose when you are selecting a skin after you choose your team. I use 3 on t (that is the white model) and 2 on CT (the light blue with the desert helmet). If you try this out and like it you will need to put it in your auto exec. make sure to put quotes around the numbers! This is mine copied and pasted from my config.

cl_minmodels "1"

cl_min_ct "2"

cl_min_t "3"

Buy script aliases and keyboard button assignment

(Original post by Micky)

* Entering Commands *

In the console, type which key that you want to bind and hit enter to see if anything is bound to it already.

bind f1

Now, decide which weapon you would like f1 to buy, we'll use the AK-47:

bind f1 "buy ak47"

Of course there's more things you can add such as buying Kevlar, Grenades, etc.  So we'll do one so that we buy an AK-47, Kevlar, and a HE grenade:

bind f1 "buy ak47; buy primammo; buy vest; buy hegrenade"

You can also combine 2 different team specific weapons into the same binds like the AK-47 and M4A1.

bind f1 "buy ak47; buy m4a1; buy primammo; buy vest; buy hegrenade"

The following formats can be used and your scripts will still function properly:

  bind f1 "buy ak47; buy primammo; buy vest; buy hegrenade"

  bind "f1" "buy ak47; buy primammo; buy vest; buy hegrenade"

  bind F1 "buy ak47; buy primammo; buy vest; buy hegrenade"

  bind f1 "buy AK47; buy PRIMAMMO; buy VEST; buy HEGRENADE"

  bind f1 "buy ak47;buy primammo;buy vest;buy hegrenade"

You can also add text headers in your autoexec in order to keep different types of binds separated and labeled.  Just add "//" to the beginning to make sure that the game doesn't try to read it as a command.  The following is an example:

//Weapon Binds

  bind f1 "buy ak47; buy m4a1; buy primammo; buy vest; buy hegrenade"

  bind f2 "buy sg552; buy aug; buy primammo; buy vest; buy hegrenade"

//Game Configs

  cl_showfps 1

  cl_smooth 0

* Important Notes *

Buy scripting in source is a lot more lenient when it comes to format.  You can use capital letters for the weapon names and keys, also you can remove the spaces between different items (buy vest;buy primammo) and your script will still work properly.  Although mistakes can still happen...

If your scripts don't seem to be working, first make sure that you've setup your autoexec properly, then check spelling, and then format.  Most errors are caused by misspelling.

If you don't have enough money to buy all the items, the game will buy in the order that you have the weapons/equipment listed in your script.

If you just want to buy single clips of ammo use either buyammo1 for primary  ammo, or buyammo2 for secondary ammo, very useful for it you just want to buy  one or two magazines of AWP ammo or pistol ammo.

You can bind a key to use a certain weapon if you would like, which is very helpful with grenades, the following is an example:

bind mouse4 "use weapon_hegrenade"

Here's a script that binds a button to cycle through the crosshair colors.  I find it fairly useful, as different maps work better with different colored crosshairs:

bind "***WHATEVER KEY YOU WANT***" toggle_crosshair_color
alias toggle_crosshair_color "crosshair_color_0"
alias crosshair_color_0 "cl_crosshaircolor 0; alias toggle_crosshair_color crosshair_color_1"
alias crosshair_color_1 "cl_crosshaircolor 1; alias toggle_crosshair_color crosshair_color_2"
alias crosshair_color_2 "cl_crosshaircolor 2; alias toggle_crosshair_color crosshair_color_3"
alias crosshair_color_3 "cl_crosshaircolor 3; alias toggle_crosshair_color crosshair_color_4"
alias crosshair_color_4 "cl_crosshaircolor 4; alias toggle_crosshair_color crosshair_color_0"

Just replace ***WHATEVER KEY YOU WANT*** with whatever key you want to use to toggle the crosshair color.
